Resident Library Cards

Apply at the Circulation Desk with written proof of Ridgewood residency (e.g. utility bill, driver's license, residential lease).

Children in grade 8 and younger must have a parent's or guardian's signature.

Non-Resident Card

The Ridgewood Public Library offers non-residents who live in a town without a BCCLS library the option to purchase a family card, valid for one year, which includes many of the privileges of resident cardholders, including in-person borrowing from the Ridgewood Library. The Ridgewood Library is unable to offer borrowing privileges to other BCCLS Libraries or access to eBCCLS (Overdrive/Libby) and Hoopla to non-resident cardholders per BCCLS policy. We offer two levels of service:

Gold Level Card

$450/per year

  • Attend all Ridgewood Library programs (Childrens, Young Adults, Adult)

  • Borrow physical books & media (Ridgewood Only)

  • Access to all NJ State Library databases (Rosetta Stone, Career Accelerator, & many others)

  • Access to premium digital services for Ridgewood Cardholders only, (Kanopy, Lynda, & many others)

  • Resident rates for computer classes and multicultural services such as ESL tutoring

Silver Level Card

$275/per year

  • Borrow physical books & media (Ridgewood Only)

  • Access to all NJ State Library databases (Rosetta Stone, Career Accelerator, & many others)

  • Access to premium digital services for Ridgewood Cardholders only, (Kanopy, Lynda, & many others)

Courtesy Cards

Courtesy Library Cards

Courtesy Cards are available for eligible non-residents for one year who:

  • Live outside of the BCCLS 77-town service area, AND

  • Are associated with the Village of Ridgewood in one of the following categories:

    • Village of Ridgewood employee 

    • Ridgewood Public Schools employee

    • Business operator who owns or holds a lease for property within Ridgewood

    • Students attending Ridgewood Public Schools

Documentation required:

  • Driver’s license or other government-issued ID showing home address AND

  • Document verifying eligibility (i.e. pay stub or tax bill).

 

Courtesy Cards enable the cardholder to:

  • Borrow Ridgewood Library-owned books, magazines, DVDs and CDs

  • Access online services provided by Ridgewood Library and the State of New Jersey

The Ridgewood Library is unable to offer borrowing privileges to other other BCCLS libraries or access to eBCCLS (Libby) to courtesy cardholders per BCCLS policy.
