The letters were lovingly saved by his wife and compiled into this book by his daughter Catherine Becker Lanni. Alvin P. Becker

Becker and his wife Patricia (nee Mundy) moved to Ridgewood shortly after their marriage on January 24, 1948. They lived on Berkshire Road in "the Lawns" for more than 50 years, raising their three children (Mike, Pat, and Catherine) there. Becker's parents ("Mom and Pop") lived in Elmurst, New York.
