YA Loom Knitting for Charity

On August 17, 25 hats arrived at Emily's Hats for Hope Initiative in Morristown. These hats were created by Ridgewood middle and high school students over the course of four loom knitting events held by the YA Department. In keeping with the "Unmask!" theme for this summer, these loom knitting sessions were called "Hats from Heroes" and were held on June 29, July 1, Aug. 3, and Aug. 5. Hats were made in a variety of sizes to fit babies, children, and adults. Emily's Hats for Hope Initiative will distribute these hats to a variety of organizations that help the homeless and working poor in New Jersey. Due to the popularity of this event, the YA Department looks forward to hosting other yarn crafting events in the near future.
