On Monday, February 29th, the Friends of the Ridgewood Library and Library staff highlighted the incredible career of Gina Mitgang, Young Adult Librarian. Gina started working at the Ridgewood Public Library in 1990 and completely revolutionized the teen department in the years to come since that day. From a small stack of young adult books to an entire room with overflowing shelves, Gina devoted her time and efforts to growing the collection and focusing on this important group of library users. Because of Gina's good nature, warmth, and dedication to her career, Monday brought dozens of former volunteers, teens, parents, and coworkers alike to honor and thank her for her tremendous contribution to the Library over the years.
In addition to thanking her coworkers, Gina introduced her successor Justin Kontonicolaou, the new Teen Services Librarian at Ridgewood Library.
Below is a video created by Ashley Loria, Young Adult Library Assistant, with help from the Ridgewood Libray staff.
